Top 5 unsolved mysteries of the world

SMJBuzz 18 Dec, 2016 Mysterious WTF

This world is full of great stories and questions, while most questions of the world are answered but there are many of them which still don’t have any answer or explanation, they continue to remain mystery even after centuries, let’s look at some of the mysteries which are still unsolved.

1.  Doppelgangers

Doppelganger is a German term which means an evil twin. It is believed that there is a parallel universe in which every individual has its identical but demonic twin, experiencing and doing the same things as you. It also dawned on researchers that somewhat explains the phenomena of déjà vu and an extra unseen presence which is the twin that is following us everywhere and materializes only when something uneventful or extremely grave befalls the individual. In the case of Emily Stagee, 50 students witnessed her twin with a black shadow that enveloped her writing on the black board whereas she sat in her garden pulling out weeds.

2.  Pollock Twins

Two siblings Jacqueline and Joanna Pollock were on their way to Church and they died in the car accident. Their parents John and Florence Pollock were very affected by this incident. After almost a year Florence was pregnant again and John had a feeling that Florence will give birth to twin girls. Doctors had denied the fact, but actually twin girls were born to Mrs. Pollock. Surprisingly they had the same birthmarks as their late sisters and asked for the same toys too. Once they were passing by a school and said it was their school, it was actually the school where their late siblings used to go, Pollocks say that they have never mentioned anything about the toys or the school to the twins. They just know it by themselves, which makes them believe that their late daughters are reincarnated.

3.  Beale Ciphers

Thomas J. Beale buried a treasure in a secret location at Bedford County, Virginia and disappeared never to be seen again. He just left 3 encrypted messages in a box and handed it over to innkeeper Robert Morriss. The innkeeper had kept the box with himself for 23 years and later he gave it out to a friend before dying. The friend spent 20 years decoding the messages and could decode just one out of the three. Out of the three cipher texts first one (unsolved) states the location of the treasure, second one (solved) describes the Content of the treasure and third one (unsolved) describes the names of the treasure’ owners.

Many attempts have been made to decode the texts till date none are successful, thus the existence of treasure is still an unsolved mystery which world doesn’t know.

4.  Shroud of Turin

Shroud of Turin is a linen cloth which bears an image of a man, which believed by some Christians to be the burial shroud of Jesus of Nazareth.  The shroud is kept in the royal chapel of Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Turin, northern Italy. Shroud has been a topic of debate amongst various theologians, historians and researchers. In 1988 a radiocarbon dating test was carried out on the shroud, which dated the shroud to be from Middle Age of 1260 to 1390. But till date no one is able to actually find out about the shroud and it continues to be most debated and researched thing in the world.

5.  MH 370

A Malaysian Airline plane, Flight number MH370, Boeing 777 flying from Malaysia to China disappeared on 8th March 2014. There were 12 crew members and 227 passengers from 15 nations onboard. Various search and rescue operations were carried out by Malaysia and many other countries. From various operations it was observed that flight was last seen somewhere near southern Indian Ocean.
